Overview
1. General Return Guidelines
At Newshades PWS, we stand behind the quality of our professional-grade equipment and chemicals.
- Standard Return Window: Items must be returned within 30 days of the original purchase or delivery date.
- Proof of Purchase: A valid receipt, order confirmation, or packing slip is required for all returns and exchanges.
- Identification: For in-store returns, a valid government-issued photo ID is required.
2. Product-Specific Policies
Chemicals & Proprietary Lines (Shade™, EdgeShade™, ForceShade™)
- HazMat Restriction: Due to DOT safety regulations and the nature of Sodium Hypochlorite (SH) and other hazardous surfactants, all sales are FINAL once a chemical container has been opened or the factory seal has been broken.
- Unopened Chemicals: Unopened chemicals in original, undamaged packaging may be returned in-store within 30 days. Chemicals cannot be returned via shipping due to hazardous material transport laws.
Pressure Washing & Soft Wash Equipment
- Gas-Powered Equipment: Once an engine (pressure washer, generator) has been gassed or oiled, it cannot be returned due to federal shipping regulations. If the unit is defective, it must be taken to an authorized service center for warranty repair.
- Pumps & Gear: Unused pumps, surface cleaners, and hoses may be returned within 30 days. Used or installed equipment is non-returnable.
- Restocking Fee: All approved equipment returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Window & Pool Cleaning Equipment
- Window Tools: Squeegees, scrapers, and poles must be in new, resaleable condition. Used rubber or microfiber sleeves are non-returnable.
- Pool Chemicals: Similar to our wash chemicals, pool chemicals (chlorine, acid, shock) are final sale once they leave the store to ensure chemical purity and safety.
Christmas Store (Lights & Trees)
- Live Christmas Trees: ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Once a tree has been cut or leaves our lot, it is non-returnable.
- Professional Christmas Lights: Returns for C9/C7 bulk spools and LEDs are accepted until December 1st. Any sales made after December 1st are Final Sale.
- Electrical Parts: Timers, vampire plugs, and custom-cut wire are non-returnable.
3. Return Methods
In-Store Returns (Granite Quarry / Kannapolis)
- Simply bring your item to our storefront. Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method. Cash refunds over $200 may be issued via corporate check and mailed within 10 business days.
Shipping Returns (Online Orders)
- RMA Required: You must contact us at (704) 500-5898 to receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before shipping items back.
- Shipping Costs: Customers are responsible for all return shipping charges unless the item was damaged upon arrival. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
4. Right to Deny & Restocking Fees
Newshades PWS reserves the right to deny any return that does not meet the criteria above or shows signs of:
Restocking Fees: We apply a 20% restocking fee to all returned equipment to cover inspection and re-certification.rns.
Misuse, abuse, or “job-site wear.”
Improper installation or chemical contamination.
5. Memberships & Professional Subscriptions
- Non-Refundable Fees: All membership and subscription fees (Monthly or Annual) are non-refundable once the billing cycle has begun.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your membership at any time through your account portal or by calling (704) 500-5898. Cancellation will stop the next scheduled billing cycle; however, no pro-rated refunds will be issued for the remaining time in the current cycle.
- Abuse of Benefits: If a membership is used to obtain “Member-Only” pricing on a significant purchase (e.g., equipment or bulk chemicals) and then canceled immediately, Newshades PWS reserves the right to charge the original payment method for the difference between the member price and the standard retail price.
